President Trump Signs FISA Extension Into Law

President Donald Trump announced on Twitter Friday that he signed into law a measure that renews Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

Politico reports that the legislation imposes only modest changes to the sweeping warrantless programs that intercept the digital traffic of foreign targets and sometimes individuals within the United States.

The Senate approved the bill on Thursday, one week after it sailed through the House despite a highly controversial tweet by President Trump.
