Pence: Embassy To Relocate To Jerusalem ‘Before End Of Next Year’

Vice President Mike Pence announced on Monday at the Knesset, Israel’s legislative body, that the United States will open its Jerusalem embassy “before the end of next year.”

This comes a month after President Donald Trump officially recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and announced the intention to relocate the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

This contradicts what Secretary of State Rex Tillerson told the press last month, when he said it’s not “going to happen this year or probably not next year.” He essentially said it’s unlikely before 2020, yet Pence claims it will happen at the end of 2019.
