FLASHBACK: Senator Tim Kaine Claimed Don Trump, Jr. ‘Potentially’ Committed ‘Treason’

President Donald Trump’s joke on Monday that Democrats committed “treason” by not applauding during his State of the Union address appears to have pissed off a lot of Democratic Party politicians and left-wing journalists, most of whom are hypocrites for not calling out Senator Tim Kaine when he, in a serious comment, claimed Donald Trump, Jr. committed “treason.”

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough claimed that Trump’s treason joke could cause one of his “unhinged” supporters to commit violence and was further evidence that Trump “is acting like an autocrat.

Left-wing publishers like the Washington Post and Rolling Stone slammed Trump for his joke.

But just last year, Democratic Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine claimed that the president’s son could have committed “treason” because of his meeting with Russians over anti-Clinton opposition research.

“That, the investigation — it, it’s not — nothing is proven yet. But, we’re now beyond obstruction of justice in terms of what’s being investigated,” Kaine told CNN. “This is moving into perjury, false statements and even potentially treason.”

Senator Kaine, also Hillary Clinton’s running mate in 2016, has a law degree from Harvard, which means he almost certainly knows both the legal definition and legal history of “treason.”
