ADL Condemns Three Dem Reps Who Attended Private Dinner With Louis Farrakhan And Iran’s President

United States Reps. Keith Ellison (D-MN), Andre Carson (D-IN), and Gregory Meeks (D-NY) met with Louis Farrakhan and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in 2013, according to Final Call.

The Anti-Defamation League slammed the three Democrats for the dinner on Monday.

“Based on what we know, its extremely disturbing that Dem reps or members of any political group would attend a session hosted by hatemongers,” ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt said Monday.

Farrakhan is known for his extreme anti-Semitic and racist views. He blamed the September 11 attacks on Jews, said white people “deserve to die,” praised Adolf Hitler as a “very great man,” claimed Hurricane Katrina was “God’s way of punishing America for its warmongering and racism,” peddled various conspiracy theories alleging the US government of killing African Americans, and said “Jews have been so bad at politics they lost half their population in the Holocaust. ”

The United States has Iran listed as the number one state sponsor of terrorism.

This story comes only a few days after The Daily Caller reported that Congressman Danny Davis praised Farrakhan, calling him an “outstanding human being.”

It also comes a few weeks after photojournalist Askia Muhammad released a 2005 picture of Obama smiling with Farrakhan and told the public that he didn’t release the image earlier because it “absolutely would have made a difference” in the 2008 presidential election.

Ellison attended Farrakhan’s Million Man March in 1995 and once publicly defended the anti-Semite.
