The Biden administration has not only maintained an open border, it went to court to fight for the right to stop deporting illegal aliens, and sued states including Arizona and Texas, numerous times, for trying to secure the border. So this sounds convincing.
“What’s been negotiated would — if passed into law — be the toughest and fairest set of reforms to secure the border we’ve ever had in our country,” Biden claimed. “It would give me, as President, a new emergency authority to shut down the border when it becomes overwhelmed. And if given that authority, I would use it the day I sign the bill into law.”
The authority is supposedly pegged to 5,000 people crossing a day. While we’ve exceeded that number, 5,000 a day is insanely high on its own. It amounts to nearly 2 million people a year. Making that into the trigger would potentially tie the …
