“This is nothing more than a continued desperate and flailing attempt by the Biden Crime Family and their Department of Justice to harass President Trump and those around him,” the Trump campaign said in a statement after new charges were brought against the 2024 GOP frontrunner.
“Deranged Jack Smith knows that they have no case and is casting about for any way to salvage their illegal witch hunt and to get someone other than Donald Trump to run against Crooked Joe Biden.”
The statement comes as special counsel Jack Smith brought additional charges against both Trump and one of his maintenance staff as the DOJ seeks to eliminate Trump from 2024 contention.
The new charges include allegations that Trump sought to destroy surveillance footage at Mar-a-Lago after a subpoena was issued by the DOJ for Trump to turn over allegedly classified documents that Trump kept with him upon departing the White House in 2021.
