Four teenagers in Germany have been arrested for allegedly planning an Islamic terrorist attack against Christians and Jews.
Deutsche Welle, a German public state-owned international broadcaster, said that three teenagers — two girls aged 15 and 16 and a 15-year-old boy — had “glorified” ISIS and “declared themselves ready” to carry out an “Islamist-motivated terror attack” against churchgoers and police.
The suspects were arrested in the western state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
The Associated Press reported that a fourth teenager, a 16-year-old boy in the southwestern state of Baden-Wuerttemberg, was also arrested.
Police arrested the suspects on pending charges of “declaring themselves ready to commit murder and manslaughter and preparing a serious act of violence,” the report said.
The teens planned to use knives and Molotov cocktails to carry out the attacks. Investigators recovered a dagger and a machete from the suspects.
