ABC News anchor Linsey Davis suggested during an interview with Kamala Harris that the vice president’s dismal polling ratings could be due to “race and gender.”

“In an interview that aired on the network’s streaming platform Monday night, Davis in asking Harris about having “the lowest approval rating of any vice president” inquired, “I’m curious – how much of a role, if any, that you feel race and gender play in that?” Harris replied, “Well, there are polls that also say I have great approval ratings.”

The unpopular vice president continued, “I think the point that has to be made is that there are attempts to create distractions away from the accomplishments of our administration.”

A 2021 USA Today/Suffolk poll found Harris with the lowest approval rating of any modern-day vice president. A June Fox News poll had Harris at a 41 percent approval rating and a 56 percent disapproval rating.
