Make fire alarms great again

Socialist Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) is engulfed in flames of doubt after he was caught pulling the fire alarm in the Cannon Building on Saturday, shortly before the House vote on funding the government. His actions resulted in an evacuation of the building. Bowman released a statement after pulling the alarm. He denied any purposeful wrongdoing, but surveillance images of Bowman raised doubt about his explanation.

“I want to personally clear up confusion surrounding today’s events. Today, as I was rushing to make a vote, I came to a door that is usually open for votes but today would not open. I am embarrassed to admit that I activated the fire alarm, mistakenly thinking it would open the door. I regret this and sincerely apologize for any confusion this caused,” Bowman said in a statement released on X, formerly Twitter.

However, surveillance pictures show that Bowman’s explanation doesn’t make much sense. One image shows Bowman pulling the alarm. Another shows the fire alarm alone on a wall, not next to any other buttons or devices that would have opened doors. Furthermore, the images also show Bowman pulling the alarm while standing behind a sign that read “Emergency Exit Only.”
